1. Implemented enterprise wide Oracle / SQL Server backup solution using CommVault.
2. Rewrote Custom SQL Server view and increased run time from 25 minutes to 45 Seconds.
3. Developed, Tested and implemented partitioning plan for VLDB that decreased query times by 50%.
4. Set up database monitoring utilizing 9i Release 2 OEM Client for Unix allowing proactive monitoring and maintenance of all Production databases.
5. Completed Production Upgrade, Database and Application, from 10.7 to 11.5 in 72 hours.
6. Corrected an object level corruption issue that had been a show stopper for moving the next phase of the database into production for a multi-thousand dollar client within three days of hire date.
7. Instrumental in highly visible project completion by tuning a process that was returning 150 result sets in a 12 hour period to outputtting 4000 per hour by using materialized view and Oracle's rewrite capability.
8. Rewrote PL\SQL Procedure to utilize 50% less redo logs and reduced run time for one procedure from 20 minutes to under 4 minutes, using temporary tables and appropriate Cost Base Optimizer (COB) init.ora parameters.
9. Instituted trend analysis via Oracle Statspack to identify peak resource consumption times and allow for better targeting of performance issues. This also provided the ability to immediately see affects of changes to the code and databases.
10. Implemented multiple remote physical standby databases for Disaster Recovery.
11. Implemented and documented the DR failover test process using Oracle's Flash Back Database that allows full DR testing without affecting the production database or customers.

Unlike some other companies we do not require special user interfaces, 99% of our process involves Oracle clients and the SQL Service Management Studio, if installed. We do not require any changes to your existing system at all.

Being the only DBA for a company based out of Austin, TX. I got the idea of starting this service because just like other DBA's I need to take vacation every so often. The cost of having someone available 24x7 was high, especially when 98% of the time the only thing required was the basic discovery process to familiarize themselves with the system. This idea was born, providing professional services at a low cost to give companies the confidence that there Oracle and SQL Server database will be protected and maintained while there in house DBA was getting much needed R&R.
